So You Think You've Got Talent!

“So You Think You’ve Got Talent," a talent show for Pasco County School employees will be held Saturday, November 15, 2008 at the River Ridge Performing Arts Center at 7:00 p.m. This event is presented by The Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union and the Suncoast for Kids Foundation. Twenty acts in four categories (dance, song, musical & other) will be premiered with spectacular prizes. All net proceeds will benefit Pasco County's Take Stock in Children Scholarship program. The program will be emceed by the entertaining Charley Belcher of Fox 13 Tampa Bay.
The winning act will not only get a personal prize, but a prize for the school he represents (or the school of choice for District employees). Of course there will be a “People’s Choice” award.

"So You Think You've Got Talent" Tickets & Sponsorships
Ticket sales for "So You Think You've Got Talent" begin Monday, September 22, 2008. Tickets will be sent within 7 days of payment receipt. Pricing is as follows:
$25 per ticket for premier seating (limited)
$12 per ticket for general seating (pre-purchase available through Nov. 7, 2008)
Day of show pricing: $15 per ticket for general seating.

Creative Teaching Grant Awards Will Be Announced October 31, 2008
The recipents of our 2008 Pasco Education Foundation Creative Teaching Grants are now closed. Awards will be announced by Octoer 31, 2008. Please check our website for the full list of winners.
Creative Teaching Grants are funded by the dollars raised through the sale of the "License for Education" specialty license plate and the following corporate sponsors: Citigroup, The St. Petersburg Times, Suncoast for Kids, and The Tampa Tribune New in Education Department. Two types of grants are available. "Building Block" grants ($300 max.) are for individual applicants and "Team Mentor" grants ($500 max.) are for teams of teachers pairing at least one teacher with less than five years experience with a teacher(s) with five or more years of experience.
